The Crawford's
For our Thanksgiving celebration in room 127, Caious Crawford and his parents gave us a clearer picture of how things were that first Thanksgiving. We learned that the pilgrims (who didn't like to be called such) endured a grueling ride across the ocean and arrived on the eastern shores, only to lose half of their group. With the help of the Indians, they survived that first winter. The feast called the "First Thanksgiving" lasted for three days. The students were surprised to learn that the main course of the feast included things such as: eel, venison, shellfish, and NO Turkey! The Crawfords brought cornbread and craisins in remembrance of their feast. Thanks Crawfords!
