Pennies by the Pound!

Busy Bees collecting PENNIES FOR PEACE....it's addicting. We have had to empty our jar of pennies several times now to make room for more. One student brought in her entire savings after stopping at the bank to exchange her dollars for pennies. The bank was glad to help out. Now we are down to 3 weeks left for collection! Knowing the pennies are helping other students who are less fortunate, students are catching the spirit of giving. Thanks Busy Bees!

Presentation on Columbia

Thanks to the Mr. Londono, Kika's father, Track 2
experienced a little taste of the culture of Columbia.
The slide show was bee-mazing and the "little
monkey" was the favorite slide for most.
From the music and dancing to the rich taste of
"sweet milk",
Busy Bees "buzzily" enjoyed the
presentation. Kika's family lived in Columbia for
awhile. Rigby's (Reading) theme this month,
American Dreams, discusses dual citizenship;
and so we were able to hear real, first-hand
experiences on that matter!
Thank you!

Jensen's presentation on China

Jacob Jensen and his family shared their summer
experience to CHINA with Track 1. As we have
studied about other cultures in our Rigby Reading
Program (and recently read a story about China),
it was "Bee-rific" to learn about Chinese Culture.
Highlights included: counting to 10 in Chinese,
singing a Chinese song, seeing a Chinese
Hackie Sack, plus learning about Chinese manners.
Thanks Jensens!
Your slide show was "bee-utiful"!

Bees earn extra recess time!

Our Busy Bees worked hard to earn extra PLAY time. It took a combined effort; however, both tracks earned 25 marbles! Congrats!
